In January-July 2019, 3.1 thousand TEU containers were sent in transit by the Kaliningrad Railway (LR. TEU is twenty-foot equivalent, a conventional unit of measurement of capacity, corresponds to the size of a standard cargo container 6.1 m long) which is 226, 5% more than in the same period in 2018, LR was told in the press service of the Kaliningrad Railway. 6.5 thousand TEUs were sent in an internal traffic that is 46% more than last year.
The growth of transit container traffic through the railway border crossings of the Kaliningrad region was mainly facilitated by the successful implementation of a number of transport and logistics products and the expansion of the infrastructure capabilities of the terminals of the Kaliningrad railway.
